Managing Victims of Crime Professional Certificate

Victims are frequently lost in the police and criminal justice system when they are the very people that the police need to support. This program examines how to speak to the victims of crime and includes such complexities and sensitivities as victims of sexual assault; child victims, and cultural issues when dealing with victims. It also examines how to set and manage expectations; how to support victims through the investigations and prosecution of a criminal trial, and how to establish and maintain victim confidence in police response.
