The world is now moving to a more suitable, more stainable and more efficient ways in terms of internet day by day. The evolution of the internet is dramatically evolving the world to more and more fast and reliable sources of data transmission in terms of telecommunications.
5G or Fifth Generation internet is the latest addition to wireless networking technology. It was first widely deployed in 2019. 5G is expected to increase performance in terms of speed and also a wide range of new applications. It could be helpful in improving many sectors including Education and telemedicine.
Along with a wide range of potential and known benefits, many people believe that there are also numerous risks for health in deploying and using of this latest invention. Many believe that it could develop cancer due to the high-frequency set of beams used in it. The study shows that this could damage the cells due to the prolonged exposure to the high radiofrequency. However, this is not uniquely applied on 5G but also 4G and 3G technologies which are now a part of our daily life. Now that, 5G uses a more strong and powerful set of beams to transmit the data that’s why it also increases the risk of damaging the human cells and results would be a higher number of cancer patients.
Dr. L. Hardell, Professor of Oncology at Örebro University in Sweden is also one of the scientists who are trying to convince the EU (Europian Union) to develop a task force to reassess the health effects due to 5G, before launching it worldwide. He states: “The telecom industry is trying to roll out technology that may have very real, unintended harmful consequences. Scientific studies, both recently and over many years, have identified harmful effects on health when testing wireless products under realistic conditions. We are very concerned that the increase in radiation exposure by 5G leads to damage that cannot be reversed”.
The main and most prominent reason of being affected with the high beams is the process of deploying the antennas for 5G, as it is intended to enable faster transmission of data, it requires a huge number of 5G antennas in urban areas. While having this number of high-frequency antennas around, no one would be able to escape the harmful effects of radiation.
Conclusively, there are a number of studies that show that we should be more concerned about human health rather than to win the race of deploying and using 5G technology. It is a matter of our future that should not be ignored.
